GENERAL CLASSROOM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
BIRTHDAYS
Morningside Elementary School recognizes birthdays can be a special day for students. We must ensure that parties and celebrations do not disrupt the instructional day or interfere with the health and safety of students. If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday you are welcome to come have lunch with your child and bring your own child a special treat or special lunch. You may also send in a low cost non-food treat such as stickers, birthday pencils, tiny fidgets, (no toy weapons of any kind!), etc. for the class. We ask that you do not bring in balloons or sweets including but not limited to cupcakes, cake, and ice cream. Please do not send birthday party invitations to school. Teachers are not allowed to distribute private party invitations for students nor are we allowed to share parent’s contact information. If you would like a parent’s contact information, please utilize the school’s directory.
HOLIDAYS
In order to respect everyone’s religious beliefs, religious holidays will not be celebrated in the classroom.
LOST, STOLEN, OR DAMAGED ITEMS
All items in the classroom are for the educational benefit of all students. Any item that is broken or damaged will need to be replaced. If your child damages or destroys any item, rather intentionally or by accident, he/she will be asked to replace or repair the item.
