CLASSROOM MANAGMENT
MY CLASSROOM MANAGMENT STYLE
My philosophy of discipline is based on the belief that children need affectionate care and firm guidelines. I believe in building relationships with each child so that if discipline needs to be provided, the student will know that the discipline is an extension of love for the student.
I try to shower students with unfailing love as best as I can. I try to help my students and parents to dismiss the notion that showing kindness and providing rewards equals love and discipline equals dislike. They are both forms of love and are equally important to provide. Discipline has nothing to do with a leniency versus punishment scale. I believe that discipline falls into the category of educating and training. Training enables students to learn to make appropriate choices in an environment that includes limits, boundaries, responsibilities, and negative and positive consequences for actions. The goal from my strategy of discipline is to raise responsible adults, not merely students who are obedient for the moment.
